Who is Covered:

Steer Smarts Limited Lifetime Warranty is applicable to the original purchaser of record and for the original vehicle on which the product was installed when purchased through an Authorized Steer Smarts Dealer on or after 1/1/2024. Proof of purchase will be required at the time of a warranty claim. This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada.

What is Covered:

Steer Smarts Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, from the date of purchase, for any Steer Smarts product, and each of its component parts, except for some excluded parts specified below:

What is NOT Covered:

• Wearable items such as ball joints, track bar bushings, bearings, tie rod ball joints, drag link ball joints, boot seals, end link bushings and parts containing bearings. Steer Smarts provides a Limited Three-Year Wearable Items Warranty from the purchase date;
• Parts that have broken or been damaged from installation error or neglect;
• “Scratch-and-Dent” items;
• Service parts;
• Damage caused by a collision or automobile accident;
• Incidental costs, including labor/repair costs, lodging, rental car, or towing expenses;
• Parts that have made contact with a hard surface and result in a bend or break; and
• Parts that have been modified.

Finish Warranty

Steer Smarts provides a Limited One-Year Finish Warranty on all Steer Smarts’ parts. This warranty covers powder coat peeling, flaking, or rusting, within 12 months of the purchase date. Fading and damage from harsh chemicals is NOT covered under this warranty.

Incorrect Installation:

Failure to install a product in strict accordance with Steer Smarts’ installation instructions VOIDS any Steer Smarts Limited Warranty. Other exclusions and limitations are provided in the section titled as such below.

Obtaining Warranty:

If you believe your product is within our warranty guidelines, please email our Customer Service Department directly at Warranty@steersmarts.com or contact us at 888-8-GO-YETI (888-8469384). When we receive your claim, we will determine if the product is within our warranty guidelines and contact you with our decision. Steer Smarts reserves the right to request additional images or diagnostics if needed. Failure to provide this information could result in denial of your claim. If we request a product to be sent back to us, we will supply you with a return label and an RMA number.

Repair or Replacement:

If we determine that your qualifying Steer Smarts’ product is defective, we will, in our sole discretion, either (1) repair the product at no charge, or (2) replace the product with one that is new or remanufactured. The warranties contained herein shall extend to replacement parts. If a product, or any component thereof, is exchanged, the replacement becomes your property and the returned product, or component, becomes Steer Smarts' property. A product, or any component thereof, provided by Steer Smarts to fulfill its warranty obligation must be used in the product for which warranty service is claimed. Steer Smarts shall have no liability for the cost of installation or removal of the defective product, or component, nor for the cost of labor or any additional parts required to complete the installation of the replacement product or component.

Exclusions and Limitations:

This warranty does not cover damage to product caused or induced by: normal wear and tear or improper installation; road hazards, abuse, neglect, accidents, collisions, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, explosion, or objects striking the product; misusing the product such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or using a vehicle on or in which the product is installed as a stationary power source; altering, disassembling, tampering, or modifying the product, or any component thereof; breakdowns or damage by other parts or components or the vehicle itself; subjecting the product to excessive moisture, water, or any motor vehicle fluids (e.g. oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, battery acid, etc.); operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses or specifications described by Steer Smarts; and acts of God, natural disasters, and other similar causes beyond the reasonable control of Steer Smarts. Application of chemicals including, without limitation, caustic (acid based) cleaners on painted or metal finished surfaces of the product; failure to follow recommended maintenance of the product, including without limitation, and where applicable, periodic or surface deterioration of paint, or finish and appearance items on product that result from use and/or exposure to the elements or environmental conditions including, without limitation, lightning, rain, hail, windstorm, earthquake, tornado, hurricane, floods, road salt, tree sap, dust, water, stone chips, scratches, bird droppings, or normal wear and tear.

Consumer Protection Laws:

This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada. Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or the duration of implied warranties or conditions, so the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state, or province to province. The laws of the state of Michigan (excluding its conflict of laws provisions) will govern this warranty. The U.N. Convention for the International Sales of Goods will not apply. Any action brought to enforce or interpret this warranty shall occur only in a court of the State of Michigan or in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Miscellaneous:

Neither reseller or its employee, nor any employee of Steer Smarts is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this warranty. Steer Smarts reserves the right to modify this limited warranty at any time; however, any such modification will not alter the warranty conditions applicable at the time of sale.

THIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY GIVEN BY STEER SMARTS AND IS MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY ARISING OUT OF A COURSE OF A DEALING, CUSTOM, USAGE, OR TRADE. SOME STATES AND PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
